Building Iconic Heat
Transfer
Solutions Since 1957

Our legacy as one of the world's leading providers of heat-transfer and cooling solutions began in 1957. L&M Radiator Inc. acquired the rights to the individually replaceable cooling-tube radiator concept originally developed by the British in World War II. We brought this concept to the Mesabi Iron Range in Minnesota. With the rapid acceptance of the "MESABI Radiator" in the mining industry, the concept grew in popularity around the world, in both OEM and aftermarket, for stationary and/or mobile heavy-equipment products.

What was important then is just as important now. Today, LyM has become the world's leading provider of precision-engineered OEM heat-transfer and cooling solutions. MESABI® heat exchangers are the global standard for heat-transfer reliability.

MESABI® México History

Don Celso Campoy Mendoza
Don Celso Campoy Mendoza - Founder LyM of Mexico.

In the early 1960s, Compañía Minera de Cananea (now Buenavista del Cobre) acquired a fleet of Wabco trucks that arrived equipped with Mesabi radiators. A company was needed to handle their maintenance and service. In 1967, LyM de México SA de CV was formed by Don Celso Campoy Mendoza in partnership with Alex Chisholm and L&M Radiator Inc. During its first 6 years the company operated at Blvd. Luis Encinas and Obregón; in 1973 it moved to the old building that decades earlier had been the Hotel Ramos, on Dr. Paliza and Londres, two blocks from the Hermosillo Cathedral; and it was not until 1983 that it finally moved to its current address in the Hermosillo industrial park.
