Designed as a size-for-size replacement for bar-and-plate style coolers, Mesabi S-Fin Coolers were developed to maintain reliability while increasing cooling performance.

Thermal fatigue is a key challenge for industrial compressors, blast-hole drill rigs and a variety of oil-gas skid packages that have compressors. When hot oil hits the core, the core expands, but the framework around it does not. When the system cools down, it is just the opposite. The core shrinks, and by that point, the framework has warmed up and still wants to be in expanded mode.
Mesabi S-Fin Coolers can be custom-designed and feature tubes with integral finning formed from the tube wall, and turbulators in the tubes to increase heat transfer.
LyM’s exclusive design ensures that Mesabi RTTS coolers can be quickly and simply returned to service if damaged or in need of regular maintenance. Held in headers with flexible, fluorocarbon rubber seals, individual tubes are replaceable in the field and the units can be returned to 100 percent cooling performance.
LyM provides incomparable service to users and OEMs because all service is handled at the manufacturer level. In emergencies, LyM can ship most parts within 48 hours. Onsite technical and engineering assistance is available nearly anywhere in the world with a few days’ notice thanks to manufacturing facilities and parts depots in the United States, Mexico, Chile, and Australia.
MESABI® Type S Fin Coolers are covered by warranty general of L. Y M. DE MEXICO along with the following Product Specific Warranty:
L. Y M. DE MEXICO warrants MESABI® Type S Fin Coolers against leaks on seals during normal operation for 48 months starting from invoice date on new coolers.
