Thermal fatigue is a key challenge for industrial compressors, blast-hole drill rigs and a variety of oil-gas skid packages that have compressors. When hot oil hits the core, the core expands, but the framework around it does not. When the system cools down, it is just the opposite. The core shrinks, and by that point, the framework has warmed up and still wants to be in expanded mode.

Regardless of application pressures, cooling performance needs or space requirements, Mesabi Aluminum Round Tube Coolers can be custom designed for pressures up to 175 psi and to withstand the harshest temperatures – more than 275ºF.

Mesabi Aluminum Round Tube Coolers are designed with tubes with integral circular finning rolled from the tube wall and turbulators placed in tubes to increase heat transfer. This also makes for easy removal and effortless cleaning.

LyM’s exclusive design ensures that Mesabi Aluminum Round Tube Coolers can be quickly and simply returned to service if damaged or in need of regular maintenance. Held in headers with flexible, fluorocarbon rubber seals, individual tubes are replaceable in the field and the units can be returned to 100 percent cooling performance capacity. Mesabi cores are easily cleaned externally with high-pressure air or water.
